R. Machado born in Sao Miguel Island (Azores, Portugal) in 1983.
Bachelor's Degree- Art School Ar.Co (Portugal - Lisbon).
Lives and works in Sao Miguel Island.
At age 14, began the practice of drawing at the Academia das Artes dos Açores with the artist Filipe Franco.
In 2001 / 2002 he developed drawing at the studio of the north american artist Michael Hudec.
From 2003 to 2006 was living to Lisbon and studied at the art school Ar.Co, where concluded the course of Drawing and the Painting course.
September 2005- visited the studio of engraving, which belongs to the famous artist Bartolomeu Cid dos Santos, Tavira (Algarve), where he developed
techniques of drawing and printmaking ( Courtesy of the Galeria Fonseca Macedo ).
During 2005 was a few months in the workshop of engraving in the Diferença Comunicação Visual, directed by the teacher and artist Fernanda Pissarro.
In 2011 he learns scrimshaw with the artist João Baptista.
Solo exhibitions:
2012- exhibition “O nosso lado animal” at the Academia das Artes dos Açores (Ponta Delgada, Portugal).
2005- exhibition at the NetJazzCafé, Chapitô (Lisbon, Portugal).
Awards:
2012- Selected to join the exhibition LABJOVEM 3ª Edition.
Art collections:
Represented in the private collection of Bartolomeu Cid dos Santos.
